‘Dragon Ball: Raging Blast’ starts training for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

Namco Bandai have announced that their popular fighting game franchise based on the Dragon Ball Z anime series is finally coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. For the first time since the debut of the Budokai Tenkaichi series on the PlayStation 2, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast will allow fans of the series to charge their Ki in high-definition. The polygonal count of the individual character models is said to be over nine-thousand.

New to the series is the introduction of destructible environments and a “Super Rising” manoeuvre. The destructible environments will provide rocks and other obstacles to smash opponents into, increasing their damage count and turning the tide of battle. The “Super Rising” manoeuvre brings more variety to the battle stages and enables players to explore new areas of the Dragon Ball universe.

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast is set for release in fall of 2009.
