Those playing Gears of War 2 tonight may have noticed earning a few extra experience points whenever their team won a match. And by a few extra experience points, we actually mean 500 experience points. Eager to know what was happening, we scoured the official Gears of War 2 forums for some answers and stumbled upon this message from Rod Ferguson, Senior Producer at Epic Games:
“It’s been a quiet week and Joe and I are bored. So on a whim we’ve decided to give all players on the winning team of a Public Match a little sumthin’ sumthin’. And by that I mean 500 bonus experience points for winning.
Call us rogue, call us heroes, but hey just don’t actually call us.”
Oh, we won’t, Rod. We’ll be too busy chainsawing strangers in half. But how long will this magical experience point bonus remain in effect?
“..starting now (Friday) and ending when we get back into work on Monday. We’ll see how this feels and maybe we’ll keep it if we like it.”
