If you’ve been wanting to try the Dungeons and Dragons Online MMORPG, then now is the perfect time to do so. Turbine is opening the doors to the world of the Eberron setting to everyone, including those who are financially challenged or extremely frugal. Simply download the client over at ddo.com and get started!

This game hitting the free-to-play market is a pretty big deal, especially considering Dungeons and Dragons is a game with full production quality. Maybe those D&D fans who were scared away by the subscription fee (like me) will take the plunge.

In order to support everyone who will be mooching off the game, Turbine has created the DDO Store, which will feature convenience items, premium dungeon packs, additional character slots, hirelings (hired muscle), potions, character customization, and more. In addition, current and future subscribers become VIP members. All the comparisons of VIP vs. free membership can be found here.

So put away those electrum pieces and save the world already!
