While it may not have been the blockbuster that they had hoped for, Swedish developer Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause had some good things going for it when it was released back in 2006. The environments were lush and expansive and the combat was over-the-top and fun. Unfortunately, the game suffered from many crippling bugs that prevented missions from being completed. Hoping to learn from their mistakes in the original game and build upon the overall experience, Avalanche Studios have announced Just Cause 2.
The following trailer shows Rico Rodriquez back in action and with an overhauled grappling hook to boot. The action looks fast and furious, the environments look huge, and the story seems as campy as ever.
Published by Eidos Interactive, Just Cause 2 is scheduled to free fall onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms later this year.
