Originally released over a decade ago for the Sony PlayStation, Final Fantasy VII cut through sales records like a Buster Sword through warm butter. One of the most popular and beloved role-playing games of all time, Final Fantasy VII is experiencing renewed success on Sony’s PlayStation Network. Since its North American release on June 2nd, 2009, more than one-hundred thousand copies have been downloaded from Sony’s digital distribution service, making it the best-selling PlayStation Network game throughout the month of June. That would make even Cloud smile!
Perhaps this will finally convince SquareEnix to produce that next-generation remake that all the kids have been clamouring for.

I remember when I sat in a cybercafe for 3 hours straight playing this game cause I couldn’t afford a PlayStation. And then I couldn’t save…
My first PlayStation had to be turned upside-down in order to read discs properly, so changing discs between chapters was always nerve-wracking for me. It was well worth the stress though. While it’s not my favourite Final Fantasy, it’s one of them.
I remember that! Man, that and “the Bible” were some of our greatest relics.
