We love Canada, and Canada loves the Xbox 360. Which is exactly why we decided to give Canadian Xbox 360 owners a chance to win some Microsoft Points as part of GameNorth’s Canada Day festivities!
With Canada turning 142 years old today, we originally wanted to give away 142 Microsoft Points. Unfortunately, it would be difficult to find something worth purchasing on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 142 Microsoft Points, and Microsoft doesn’t sell them in that denomination anyways. So, we decided to multiply that value by ten, giving us the more attractive sum of 1420 Microsoft Points. Sadly, Microsoft doesn’t sell Microsoft Points in THAT denomination either. Sure, there was a 1400 Microsoft Points card, but that would involve rounding down, and we hate rounding things down at GameNorth. Instead, we decided to bump it up to 2800 Microsoft Points!
To enter the contest, simply comment on this article and tell us how you plan to spend (or spent) Canada Day this year. On Friday July 3rd, 10am Eastern Standard Time, we will randomly select one of the comments and award the Microsoft Points to the author. All comments written up to the time of the draw will be considered eligible!

Got up late played some COD4 online, watched my son play some Burnout Paradise. Went to Fort Malden in Amherstburg, ON to watch some War of 1812 (we kick butt) reenacting and later will be going to watch some fireworks.

I’ve been helping my Dad put the protective cover and liner in our pool, because we had to take it down last year due to a liner leak that rotted the plywood exterior.
I’m also keeping tabs on the NHL’s Free Agency frenzy. GO LEAFS GO! And mayve playing Fight Night later.
I am going to spend the day playing Halo 3 with my friend and singing the national anthem during 6 hours….Why not ?

First off, thanks for hosting this contest. It makes Canada Day oh so much sweeter.
I’m going to go to a Calgary Stampeders CFL game with my dad. I even turned down an awesome party just to spend time with him. Until then, though, I’m playing Halo 3 in style. My spartan is red and white and I have a maple leaf as my emblem. Represent!

I am spending Canada Day with my dear family. My two sons and I are playing Halo 3 and CoD WaW ,and when my wife returns from making dinner, we plan to play 1 vs 100 all together on the xbox.

Worked for the first half of the day, and we just finished up the family bbq in the backyard. Epic evening!
I intend on spending Canada Day at the cottage with a bunch of good friends, drinking beer, BBQing and debating the NHL’s free agent movements!
