We love Canada, and Canada loves the Xbox 360. Which is exactly why we decided to give Canadian Xbox 360 owners a chance to win some Microsoft Points as part of GameNorth’s Canada Day festivities!
With Canada turning 142 years old today, we originally wanted to give away 142 Microsoft Points. Unfortunately, it would be difficult to find something worth purchasing on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 142 Microsoft Points, and Microsoft doesn’t sell them in that denomination anyways. So, we decided to multiply that value by ten, giving us the more attractive sum of 1420 Microsoft Points. Sadly, Microsoft doesn’t sell Microsoft Points in THAT denomination either. Sure, there was a 1400 Microsoft Points card, but that would involve rounding down, and we hate rounding things down at GameNorth. Instead, we decided to bump it up to 2800 Microsoft Points!
To enter the contest, simply comment on this article and tell us how you plan to spend (or spent) Canada Day this year. On Friday July 3rd, 10am Eastern Standard Time, we will randomly select one of the comments and award the Microsoft Points to the author. All comments written up to the time of the draw will be considered eligible!
For rules and eligibility, please read our official contest rules. Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification from the contest and potential exile from the nation of Canada.
Good luck, and check out our other Canada Day contest here.

Happy Canada Day from BC!
Had a very good friend show up for dinner on Canada Day. I have not seen my friend for almost 2 years and it made for a very exciting day. It was great to talk about past workplaces and what we were doing in our lives right now. It was hard to get out for the festivities as it rained quite a bit here in Southern Ontario.
spent the evening watching fireworks in coal harbour with the GF
Spent the day wakeboarding on the beautiful lake muskoka with tons of family and friends, heading into town shortly for a night of fireworks in town to celebrate canada day, then canada day themed drinks to follow
Well, im spending my canada with a bunch of freinds, gonna go to a party, then go for a dip in the lake, but when we wake up that morning, go to the breakfest held down at the beach and watch the parade, at the end of the day, where gonna finish it off with fireworks and a party
Good luck to everyone!
I’m spending Canada Day with my ailing father and family. At 72, my dad is an hardcore gamer, putting in 35+ hours a week on his xbox. Today (Canada Day) we played Forza 2, CoD WaW, Halo 3 & Halo 2 on PC. Fireworks tonight then back to work in the morning lol.
I spent it with the family on Toronto’s harbor front and had a rather pleasant dinner while watching the fireworks over the lake’s horizon.
It was alright.

I spend the first half of Canada day in a hospital emergency room and the other half laying on sofa playing Halo 3.
Some time outdoors between the rain. Playing with the kids. When the rain started up, time for some video games and a movie. Later in the evening, watching some local fireworks from the upstairs window (too rainy and cold to go see them closer

I spent some time in the park with the family. At night met up with some other families and set off our own fireworks. Great times!
