Hoping to build upon the success of the award-winning NHL09, Electronic Arts have implemented over two-hundred gameplay refinements for the upcoming NHL10. Hoping to capture the realism of hockey, NHL10 will allow players to engage in all manner of unsportsmanlike activities after the whistle blows. Facewash another player when the referee isn’t looking, throw a delayed check, or even take a shot on net to get under the skin of the other team. In the following gameplay trailer, NHL10 Producer David Littman reveals these new gameplay enhancements plus more.
Wait, did I see a player wearing a visor during one of the new first-person perspective fights? Marc Savard just cancelled his pre-order.

he’d cancel it once he found out there is fighting in the game, period.
That board play sounds good. And so do moving around on your knees and batting the puck out of the air on a rebound (quite annoying in 09 when the puck is there and the net is empty, but you can’t score). I’m not sure if it’s enough to change me from a 2k player, but it looks like it will be worth a look, at least.
Yeah, I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing what 2K has up their sleeves this year. They got everyone’s attention by putting Ovechkin on the cover, now they have to capitalize on it!
