Been aching to get some Battlefield 1943 on? Gnashing teeth about being at work or school while self-employed (unemployed) gamers get to take to the skies and the beaches? Looks like there’s really not all that much to be missed. Due to unexpected popularity, all the servers are packed. And for those who are able to connect, there have been some lag issues, making the experience less than optimal.
DICE has announced they’re adding new servers, with an estimated completion time of 17:30 GMT. Which is really quite an excellent delaying tactic, as it caused mass confusion while we all tried to remember what our relationship to GMT is (protip: EDT is GMT-4, so 1:30pm).
Looks like I’m going back to playing the tutorial again. And really, unexpected popularity with an online-only title? Hopefully DICE will manage to get things sorted out for the PS3 release tomorrow.
