In order to fix the fact that you had to insert a code so that two players can play as the same character, and the fact that you couldn’t use some of the characters in the game in Street Fighter 2, Capcom released a whole new game, called the Championship Edition, into the wild. These days this would be no more than a cheap download over Xbox Live or PSN, and to show you why you should appreciate the internet, Capcom and GameTap has thrown a Flash version of Street Fighter II Championship Edition up at Kongregate.
Oh, they’re also celebrating the July 7 release of Street Fighter 4 for the PC, which most certainly wouldn’t have been downloadable content in any era.
It’s a little hard to do some of the moves, but it’s all worth it to be reminded of the joy of cheesing out opponents for the first time with Bison.
