The developers of Insomniac held a panel at this past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con to discuss upcoming Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time for the PlayStation 3 with fans and to reveal some crazy new weaponry.
First revealed was the Spiral of Death, a fan-submitted addition to the franchise arsenal that could be best described as the deadliest yo-yo in the universe. When upgraded, the Spiral of Death can support up to three saw blades, transforming it into the Spiral of Carnage.
Insomniac also revealed the Constructo line of weaponry, the Constructo Pistol and the Constructo Bomb Glove, each a highly customizable weapon.
The Constructo Pistol can be customized to use multiple barrel and ammo types, including single and auto shots, charge shots, ricocheting bullets, and explosive rounds. With each upgrade, the appearance of the weapon will change, giving each player their own individual instrument of death.
The Constructo Bomb Glove is similar in design, with upgrades such as napalm, shrapnel, and more traditional explosive bombs. Players will also be able to alter the damage and radius of the explosions through further upgrades.
Mods and upgrades for the Constructo weapons can be found throughout the galaxy, rewarding players for extra-curricular exploration.
