German developer Piranha Bytes have released the first official trailer for Risen, the spiritual successor to their Gothic franchise. Featuring the song Poet and the Pendulum by symphonic gothic metal band Nightwish, the trailer gives us a glimpse of the medieval tropical island upon which the story of Risen will unfold. Try not to headbutt your monitor when the music makes the transition from symphonic melody to melt-your-face gothic metal and the inevitable headbanging occurs.
Risen is scheduled for release this October for the PC and Xbox 360 platforms.
