Hinted at in the last batch of screenshots, the latest trailer for NHL 2K10 shows us Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin’s famous laying down goal in digital form, followed by his notorious ‘my stick is too hot’ goal celebration. Splendid.
While the animation looks great, and the goal is certainly exciting, I don’t understand why 2K Sports would focus so much on implementing something that happened once in the history of the sport. Personally, I’d rather not see this kind of goal happen with any frequency in the game, and hope that such theatrics can toggled.
I may be in the minority here, but I think the face-washing, post-whistle shenanigans, and board play of NHL10 sound much more exciting because those things actually happen all the time in the real sport. But for those that can’t wait to do Ovechkin’s goal over and over, here it is in all its digital glory.

is party now? wha?
Still, having played a lot (and I mean a LOT) of 2k09 and NHL 09, I much prefer 2k09. That alone is going to make me more likely to play 2k10.
