Xbox 360 System Update is now live

The latest Dashboard update for the Xbox 360 went live all across Canada this morning, giving Canadian Xbox 360 owners a few more bells and whistles to play with. Unfortunately, the Canadian version of the update lacks the Netflix functionality that our neighbours to the south received, but since we’re still lacking access to the Netflix service they would have been useless to us anyhow. What the update does give us is a new means of tracking your achievements, more streamlined party functionality, Games on Demand, the new Avatar Marketplace, and a few more tweaks and improvements.

Much to our surprise, the Avatar Marketplace saw the addition of some previously unannounced content this morning to coincide with the launch of the update. Star Wars and BioShock 2 clothing and accessories are now available, making it possible to give your Avatar a lightsaber or a Big Daddy helmet in addition to COG Armour and pirate regalia. Good times!

Check out our hands-on impressions of the update here.
