You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why: Sony is coming to town, and they come bearing a multitude of exciting new games for the upcoming Holiday season. Eager to show off the fruits of their labour, Sony invited us to their workshop to sit down with these highly-anticipated games and to get a little face-time with the developers. Sadly, there were no elves present.
However, several exclusive blockbuster titles, such as God of War III, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Heavy Rain, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, and ModNation Racers were. The event also featured a very strong third-party presence, with Tekken 6, Army of Two: The 40th Day, The Saboteur, Assassin’s Creed II, Lego Rock Band, Band Hero, and more being playable on the show floor. With a line-up that strong, even Cobra Commander couldn’t help but come out of hiding to have a little fun (and drink some Sprite).
As usual, you can count on GameNorth to provide you with in-depth hands-on previews and impressions of the games present at the show, as well as an interview or two with some of the developers. There are some pretty sweet titles coming out for the PS3 over the next while. The online might suck, but for a gamer like me that doesn’t game much online, I’m pretty happy with the system. One title you didn’t mention (and which was apparantly avaible there) is the new Katamari game. It sounds like it might be a retread of the earlier games but… who cares! I <3 Katamari.
I played Katamari. The dude made fun of the size of my Katamari at the end of the demo so I don’t feel equipped to preview it anymore.
I believe Katamari was there, but it was in the booth right next to Tekken 6. Tekken 6 seems to have a magnetic effect on Rich and Don, who seem to need to battle it out. I think there is a lot of unspoken aggression between these two.
